Mom has had a cold since before Christmas. While it didn’t seem like much then, it sure does now. She sounds horrible.
The doctor at Piedmont Place ordered a chest x-ray which turned out negative for pneumonia. So Mom is now being treated with garden-variety Robitussin-DM and with Claritin. The good news is that she’s no longer coughing.
Colds come and go, and at a medical facility, germs travel quickly. The risk among the aged is higher due to weakened immune systems, so this bears watching. But it’s good to know that my team of caregivers is on the job. I have every confidence that Mom will come out of this just fine.
