Long day. Short report.
There were three agenda items for Mom today. The physical therapist walked her about 1,000 ft. this morning. For those of you keeping score, that’s five sessions of 500, 200, 300, 600, and 1,000 feet with a walker over a twelve day period.
The hospital’s 11am release time was pushed to 2:30pm, of course. It always happens that way. No matter. Mom was wheelchaired to the car and she was free to breathe the 80 degree North Carolina air again.
We went to the beauty parlor, got her all slicked up, and then back to Piedmont Place where she now occupies a private Skilled Nursing room from which she will undergo two to four weeks of rehabilitation. Mom virtually flopped down onto her bed exhausted and wanted nothing and no one. She just wanted rest.
