Medical update — 040312

There was no fever overnight. The kidney ultrasound was normal. The UTI antibiotics have been prescribed in pill form, and a little home-health physical therapy has been prescribed to help regain full control of balance. Transportation is ready, and the ranch has been alerted.

So, it’s all set…Mom gets to go back home this afternoon. She’s a happy camper.

Hooray! I know how tough the UTIs can be on the elderly.
I left for work one day and my Dad was fine, when I got home he was literally delusional.
I didn’t hardly know what to say was wrong when I called the VA . . . “My Dad is talking to people in the room that aren’t here, can I bring him into ER?” They immediately said, “Sounds like a UTI, that’s how the elderly respond to infections.” At first I thought they were crazy, boy was I relieved when it turned out to be just that. But he did have to be admitted for a couple of days.
Glad you got good news! Hope you and yours enjoy a blessed Easter Season.

So glad to hear it. She gets to go home and you don’t have to fly to NC. A happy ending to this roller coaster ride!

Ahh…the good old days — when (every 6 months or so) something would happen in NC and I’d take to the air like Mighty Mouse to save the day leaving you and everything I loved behind in MN. Wait a minute…those weren’t good old days at all. Never mind.
